Our design has been inspired by the Jugo, Portuguese for a yoke, by which two animals are joined together to carry heavy work on the field. This wooden piece was sometimes richly ornamented with geometric carved symbols, which could determine the social status of the farmer. Our Jugo pillow is illustrated to highlight the hard work of the two joined animals. The linen cover is dyed with organic indigo dye, creating its iconic blue shade.
